Israeli goalscoring machine Eran Zahavi has signed for the Chinese Super League’s Guangzhou R&F . Zahavi, 28, scored a remarkable 47 goals in all competitions for Maccabi Tel Aviv last season and has racked up 116 goals for the club in the last three seasons. His 35 league goals last term were an Israeli Premier League record, and 21 more than his nearest challenger on the scoring charts, as he won his third consecutive golden boot award. Zahavi is also an Israeli international, appearing 31 times for his country and scoring five goals.

Maccabi will receive $8 million for Zahavi, the most lucrative transfer ever involving an Israeli club. The 28-year-old will earn an estimated $12.5 million over the next two-and-a-half years, as well as a $20,000 bonus for each goal he scores.

$20,000 bonus for each goal!! o

Manchester City have signed Aussie midfielder Aron Mooy from Melbourne City on a 3 year contract . Another Socceroo set for the EPL

He won't play in the Premier League. This move will benefit both parties though. Manchester City can loan him out to a team in Belgium or a smaller Premier League side and if he does well, they can potentially profit off Mooy. Meanwhile, Mooy will be able to use connections from Manchester City to get that move to Belgium or a smaller Premier League team.

Man City certainly don't need to make a profit on anyone, let alone someone who will go for a small transfer fee if he is sold in the future though.

It sounds more like a publicity signing more than anything.

They don't need to but it is easy money, a lot of teams like them do it, like Chelsea. As for publicity, I doubt they will gain much from the Aussie audience with him.

Wrong thread but while we are at it, Antonio Di Natale is also a free agent and was already in talks with my New York Red Bulls. Would be more suited to ISL.
