It will be good but I think as they are Calcutta based Group, they will be reluctant to spend money to make a base at Siliguri. Kalyani is still what 1 hour drive from Calcutta so everything stays in Calcutta yet they can play in Kalyani.

True but do Prayag have a goal to expand the stadium at all if needed. The only reason I think Siliguri is better is for the bigger fan potential and the bigger stadium. Kalyani is still in need or major work while the area is already full of competition.
  • They cannot expand the stadium as Kalyani Stadium I think is owned by local municipality. It will be good if they are able to convince them to expand. I am not sure how much is revenue share model-how much rent they have to give to the stadium to conduct the games.

why they need to expand the stadium?

  • Fans are at a high right now. Its going to get better as Prayag will increase their fan base. They will need more stands.

Seems everybody interested about their home stadium and not this news,so Mr Nabab you pick a U-19 team just before the start of U-20 league ?

Spending 15 crores but dont have some lakhs to keep an U-19 team :P

it is strange to see that most of the i-league teams have an u-19 team at least from start of season with exception of PSU(i think) and surprisingly prayag... very bad >:P
  • Do Shillong Lajong have a real U19 side? Last season they fielded a U17 side in the U20 league.

‘Teams like Mumbai FC are anti-football’ – Prayag United’s Eelco Schattorie blasts Khalid Jamil’s side

    http://www.goal.com/en-india/news/1064/i-league/2013/01/22/3690203/teams-like-mumbai-fc-are-anti-football-prayag-uniteds-eelco

  • While in recent weeks, Sangram Mukherjee has cemented his place in-between the sticks for Prayag United, after both, Subrata Paul and Ishan Debnath failed to convince the Dutchman. Schattorie though, did not feel that a constant chopping and changing of the goalkeeper was one of the reasons for their inconsistency.

Eelco revealed, “When I came here, the goalkeeping coach (Per Henrikson) told me that Subrata is the best keeper but he didn’t have the best performance in those games. Sangram was outside the team at that time and due to the schedule, we could not check all the keepers. In a Calcutta league game, I gave him a chance, and from that moment he convinced me. Since then we did well. At times you take a while to get to know players.”

"He (Henrikson) told me that Subrata is number one, Ishan second and Sangram third choice, and he was wrong. You can’t change when you don’t know,” the 41 year-old added."
    -- Eelco Schattorie
Subrata Bhattacharya's goalkeeper choice last year was also on similar lines, MB recruiting thought otherwise
