Posting here as it is the relevant thread and yes, this thread can be about basketball, kabbadi, hockey etc but also should be about cricket.
I hope we see the return of a Kochi franchise in IPL but overall, I wish the IPL would go and learn from the NFL if they want to be a big enterprise sports league. They are doing it wrong... or at least look at the Big Bash League. You can still spend big money, market huge, promote celebrities, and make big money without doing all the shady and cringy things they do.
I think other popular sports in India such as football and basketball etc should be given a chance. Banning of these two IPL clubs does not mean India will perform badly in Cricket.
Mini IPL is not a good option. Now that IMG-Reliance and ISL have seen the potential of football in India (fourth largest average attendance) is it possible to arrange a Champions Cup similar to International Champions Cup in India? Or a BRICS Cup?
Interesting stuff but again, this is a long time coming. One thing that does concern me is the resistance to go to 10 teams one day due to extending past the international schedule. Seriously?
JSW shelves plan to buy Bangalore franchise of IPL. Maybe they will wait for valuation to go down. By the way, Bangalore Franchise is for sale, that means next year no Bangalore team also with Chennai and Rajasthan if they are unable to sell the team??
