Mr Narinder Batra is a very unstable man, unfit for FIH chief post. He forgot that he is head of FIH not Hockey India. You cannot be fighting with everybody always. Keep Politics out of sports. Maybe he is eyeing some political career in India but FIH is not the right platform. He was ranting against England, malaysia, Pakistan during the tournament. He even badmouthed Indian NRIs in england saying that any criminal from India can come and settle outside. Maybe he got personally involved in Sardar Singh case. Just imagine the embarassment, FIH had to issue statements that the rants of FIH head Mr Batra are personal and not representative of FIH. Wearing black bands in India Pakistan match in England was uncalled for- that too in FIH tournament is England. He even said that he will not let Pakistan team get visa for 2018 world cup even if they qualify. Then why should they participate in qualifiers? He was forced to apologise and that has hurt his ego.
Next up is against usa on 10th july and Usa beaten Chile in first game by 1-0 And interesting fact is that ind beaten Chile in last round's final match in penalty shootout after playing a 1-1 draw So if India can clinch another draw here it'll be good for us
I saw our Women's team play in this Tournament.They are bad beyond belief (I am being kind to them).They lack the the basics big time like(How firmly or loosely to hold the hockey,what to do,positioning skills etc) they don't have the understanding,leave aside the execution part.
I had no doubt that Ireland would beat them.The likes of Italy are better than our team.
Our team is 20-25 yrs behind the actual level of Women's Hockey at this time.
Bad beyond belief is Perhaps a refinedway of saying the actual level of our Women's team.Its actually worse.
Such a long time under Foreign Coaches and such result !!! They were so predictable and bad in passing. They were better under Indian Coaching system. Foreign coaches have altered their playing style- starting a move from the back, back pass. If there are 3 indian players behind, the player instead of moving forward will try to pass back and give it to opposition player. Cannot even push or hit the ball in penalty corner. Atrocious !!!
munna the results under indian coaches was not up to the mark india women hockey performed badly under them. in 2015 first foreign coach was appointed for women team.under guidance of nail hagwood we qualified for 2016 rio olympics & junior first time won bronze medal under his guidance. present coach was appointed 3 months back we should give another 6 months time then we can judge his performance.
