because hockey and cricket are mainly national teams based sports where the club structure is not a established idea while football is more of club based sports as most of players spend their main time with their club than country since ages
so fans of hockey and cricket are feeling happy for this short term entertainment which IPL and HIL(expectations) are providing now

Good enough for me but I am predicting that eventually they will become longer. Like in baseball which has 162 games a season + playoffs or basketball which has 82 games + playoffs.
While talking of beauties, did anyone notice the cheerleaders in the T20 world cup in Lanka? I mean, who told them that it was compulsory to have cheerleaders!!
