To be honest i'm not interested about any new club getting in to i-league. I am realy pissed off by aiff's double standerds and eb also lost today,so i'm even more pissed off. **** to rel/pro and **** to aiff.

is indian football some kind of joke or we are just mear toy in the hand of img.

  • Easy... toy. Worst deal in history.

  • IMG mismanaged right from the start of the season-Federation Cup.

@ashlesh. Buddy, ask anybody "Who is running the Goa govt". From where is Parrikar getting money to run the state without mines. You'll come to know who is the most powerful among all. If a person can run a govt on his own, imagine the power. So stop respecting any club in India. All are the same from top to bottom.

  • "In their bid to rejoin the I-League."

    Worst words in history.

ha ha ha i know you wont like it but even earlier i had posted that their ceo told that if they get [promoted they will upgrade tilak and will play at tilak
and the coach had told that he willl spend heavely before division 2

over that they have got sponsors and academy :P

Their one major sponsor is NVD. Other than that they have virtually nothing. Also I do not count a "partnership" between Brasil FA and Vasco as Vasco SC having an Academy.

Personally I would want Vasco to rebrand before making a return if possible. The club still seems outdated. I would personally love to see a name change from the old Vasco SC and perhaps expand to the entire Southern half of Goa... "Southern Goa Solar FC" or The South Goa Solar Football Club. Then, while working with BFA, create a real Academy that is directly affiliated with the club.

Then of course the stadium would be a problem. Perhaps since Fatorda Stadium is in South Goa you guys could relocate their once the revamp is complete. Then, with the help of NVD Solar, you can try and work to bring fans in.

I won't go into more details as this just popped into my head now.
  • LOL No wonder SESA won if the best Dempo put out was Pereira, Antao, and Menyongar. Come on... where is the youth from Dempo.

Any way I doubt SESA are any more qualified than Air India or ONGC to play in the I-League. The might as well become the ASD of India and remain an Academy. They can get good money from that. Leave the professional game to the professionals.

@Arsenalkid700. Vasco is sponsored by NRB and not NVD Solar.  Churchill Bros is sponsored by NVD.  As far as changing the name of Vasco goes it is illogical. Vasco probably has the highest and most passionate supporters in Goa.

And all the guys here scream about naming the club after a city, then why change the name of Vasco???

Yikes... got the two mixed up. Happens. Either way great for Churchill, great company from the small research I did on NVD.

As for changing the name etc. Why the hell would a team not move to Fatorda? The stadium is already being renovated into what will be the best stadium Goa will probably see. And its not as if the distance is long at all. What is the distance between Margao and Vasco... at least Google maps shows around 30 minutes away.

And the reason I say that is so you get a wider fan base to tap into. The city of Vasco da Gama maybe the biggest in Goa but at 100,000 people you are not going to get much out of it. You might as well try to expand and try to tap into the untapped areas of Goa. Naming is key to that. Shows that you run this area and that we are the dominate team.

I don't know. I feel if done correctly a club with the name of "South Goa" can really become a really successful club in terms of fans which would also translate to on field performance.

mostly we hear that this margao club , vasco club , panjim club or bicholim club liek that if you say north goa south goa people wont even ask which club is that

Over the past 2 years this is what I have learned about nationalism in Goa:

1st stage: Its Goa and ONLY Goa.

2nd Stage: Its North Goa! Its South Goa!

3rd Stage: Its Panjim!!! Its Margao!!!
