Yeah but I am not worried because its a given. Anyways, I was reading this news, it looks like under the current format we have to play the oceania champions in a playoff. The winner joins the champions of Asia, Africa and so on. I doubt we would pass the first hurdle.
Angel Berlanga was at par with players like Bilal, Johnson etc. Just that our clubs lacked financial strength to retain him. He was paid 75 lakhs for those few months.
Auckland City FC might be beatable actually. Bloody Angel Berlanga starts for them for gods sake and he was just above average in I-League.
Agree with Dominic. .having watched a lot of Angel Berlanga last season...extremely composed defender who read the game very well. Financial reasons were not the main factor though. ..his fiancee preferred New Zealand as she was eager to work and she couldn't find anything meaningful in Goa in Environmental Engineering ....( not surprising given the mining crisis )
If a I league club can defeat auckland city (near impossible) they will get 2 more matches to play
Low ranked I-League club beat Wellington Phoenix, albeit pre-season ( for both )...with a useless striker like Gbeneme Friday then a good I-League team like East Bengal or Pune FC with good foreigners in 2015 should be easily able to handle Auckland City at home....

Nothing is impossible in football dude. East Bengal showed us the way with their 1st leg semi final match. We just require a little luck and we can surely create an upset
