Will this Modi visit affect Indian football? When Manmohan Singh asked for help from then Brazilian President Lula da Silva in 2006 to improve Indian football then what happened?
Lot of money is required to improve football in India. AIFF didn't get help from Brazil. The Government will not invest 1% of the Union budget for football since there are other important issues right now. So instead they are taking financial help from IMG-Reliance to develop the game themselves.
Baichung Bhutia, who also played for English club Bury FC, feels that if India has to do well at the international level, players need to get overseas club experience. "Right now, we have young players who can make it and they need to have that kind of exposure. It helps you a lot in terms of confidence and also psychologically. It makes you very competitive," he said.
Cool, so lets get these players imaginary trials with top top clubs like Real Madrid or Bayern Munich because with just a few phone calls these can be done!
Korea lost to 10 men belgium with some horrible defending. Good to get rid of them, they were very dull, neither good at attack nor good at defending. Better teams have made it.
