KAPURTHALA: Iran will help the state set up Punjab school of sports in Jalandhar. Mohammad Aliabadi, deputy to first vice-president of Iran, who was with deputy CM Sukhbir Badal at a press conference, said that he has invited the Indian government to sign an MoU with Iran in the field of sports.

He said that Iran would send wrestling and football coaches to India under the proposal and the latter would send Kabaddi coaches. Aliabadi said that Iran was providing sports science techniques to Punjab and there was a lot of scope for improvement of trade ties with India, while adding that Punjab could become a dominant partner in this.

ork permit regulations have dealt a severe blow to former Staffordshire University student Prudhvi Kolaventy’s dreams of playing professional football in England.

The 18-year-old Indian youth-international from Hyderabad, impressed during trials at Brentford earlier this year.

At the time he was in Britain on a student visa, studying Business Management in Stoke-on-Trent.

He's a good solid player, I played with him in AP U-17 team and even during recent June summer camps.

He might be back to India and going represent Quartz Soccer Club's U-19 team which has been approved by AIFF to play in I-League 2

  • This is the story of Indian Football after you hang the boots.

A professional footballer is supposed to be set for life once they retire and that going into commentary and management is a choice but here in India once you can't play you are forced into management or media as the money you gain from playing here is not good enough.

In this case I bet money had something to do with it.
