How will Asian players or teams develop ? Also there is a financial gain for Asian players . If this rule is not there, we wouldn't have see Asian players in Indian leagues.. Clubs will be able to gain overseas fans as well.
AFC quota is getting abolished in most countries.. Doesn't make any sense unless you are playing in Asia.. And since this rule came up only players from Australia, Japan & South Korea has benefitted from it
Sunil Chetri played with father of Manvir Singh when Sunil used to feature in JCT Team many years ago. Manvir Singh's father was a regular at Punjab Police team.

In my opinion, AFC quota is important as it retains the Asian character. Otherwise it will be one more Random Spanish in the team roster. Intention is that Developed leagues of Asia will pass on their players and professionalism to other developing countries.
I-League is expected to start from Nov 16 instead of Nov 2.
AIFF has shared with FSDL a draft I-League schedule with a start date of Nov16. Details of TV telecast have yet not been finalized.
