Ayush Chetri looked like a big misfit. Nothing in Rohit Danu as well. Despite having a very weak midfield, Stimac got the best out of these players..Rahul KP looked like the only player capable of scoring. This should give him a good boost under Stimac and hopefully we will see him in the Merdeka cup

  • And now I am a bit skeptic about not having Arrows team without proper youth league. No matter what we say, age group teams in previous era were playing a lot more international  games than current. When will we realise that transition from u17 to u23 is vital for us

Yes we downgraded from removing arrows. But arrows is not a solution having one youth team will not take us anywhere. We need professional football clubs which we don't have a lot of it now. Even with three tier system if we are worrying where will youth players play, then imagine our plight. We also need our players to try their luck abroad. Even if it means BPL or any other league where there is AFC Cup opportunities the minimum. This is the problem now.

After watching today's match it makes me wonder when will we see such technical players in India. These defensive tactics can only take us this far

AIFF, clubs, Govt and local bodies need to work together and improve things at grassroots and youth level.

  • Aiff should try and utilise Govt Khelo India initiatives to promote youth leagues including major school, academies, clubs across India under multiple age groups

Glad finally he got rid of the great Rahim Ali. Now I am wondering why not add Siva/Irfan and groom them by giving some minutes. Siva is going to be a bench option this season as well with the arrival of their striker. Not really sure if we have any meaningful options. I had hopes on Kiyan but he seems to be happy at his bench role. I really wished for him to go to some clubs where he can start. I even thought he could be our false 9 for a while. Players are also to be blamed for this mess. Our players have poor mentality, they are fine to accept money over career. If they really can make an impact money will follow especially in countries like India with limited options. Nobody wants to take that chance everyone wants to play it safe.
