Is Saprisa bringing a full team or just the B team. They are in the middle of the 2012-13 season themselves but I am not sure they have a break as well.

IFA has selected NEWS TIME BANGLA as their Media Partner for the IFA SHIELD 2013 and Probable NEWS TIME BANGLA will telecast group league matches along with the semifinals and final.

East Bengal's last group stage match is on 9th march and semifinal & final is there also. East Bengal has AFC Cup match on 13th march that too an away match. What was IFA thinking while making the fixture.

IFA Shield should be a pre-season tournament. IFA can attract massive clubs of europ if its a pre-season tournament.

Perhaps but most European teams wont do a full tournament in pre-season unless it is one of those 2 game tournaments.

@Arsenalkid700 if a big enough club comes then they can start the tournament from semifinal like club world cup.

Good point. 12 teams. Split them into 3 groups of 4 and have the winner after 3 games move on to the Semi-Final. 3 + 1 Marquee team in the Semi-Final and move on.

That could actually work.
