East Bengal with Leicester City, Chennai City with FC Basel, Hyderabad FC with Borussia Dortmund, Odisha FC with Watford FC...….
Atleast we played Lester at their home ground after being invited in a preseason tournament. Hyderabad copied the logo of Borussia, Chennai City shut shop after overwhelming investments from FC Bassel and Odhisha Tourism is eyeing tourists from Watford region, is it?

this is what we need in Indian football. Not any useless tie ups with any fancy top European clubs. The only problem I see is whether ISL allow 3 teams from 1 city if it really makes it.

It will be a tough battle between East Bengal and MSC in ISL on who will finish last, if MSC makes it to ISL.

Reports : Mohammedan Sporting Club and Investors Bunkerhill part ways

Hero I-League side Mohammedan SC and Gurgaon based company, Bunkerhill Pvt Ltd. have parted ways according to the reports emerging out of Kolkata.

In a letter accessed by Bengali sports portal, ‘XtraTime’, the Investors can be seen voicing their displeasure over the happenings at the club.

Under Bunkerhill, the club had achieved quite some success as they won their 12th Calcutta Football League title after a 40-year gap in 2021. They also finished runners-up in the Durand Cup 2021 (lost to FC Goa) and the inaugural Futsal Club Championship in the same year. They also won the second division I-League in 2020 to return back to the first division after a seven-year hiatus. The club also put up a brilliant show in the following season where they ended up being the runners-up, the club entered the season 2022–23 with an aim to earn promotion to the Hero ISL but were dealt with several blows which resulted in a season to forgot as the ‘Black Panthers’ finished 8th.

In the letter, Dipak Kumar Singh — the Director at Bunkerhill Pvt Ltd. can be seen alleging non co-operation from the side of the club officials despite the investors having, “put in tremendous efforts both in terms of efforts and money (more than Rs 7/8 crores every year) to turn around the fortunes of the Mohammedan Sporting Club.”

Dipak also quoted that the investors where being limited in terms of functioning the club, “we are not allowed to function freely with the Youth team and there has been no revenue model for us to work.”

As the non-cooperation from the club officials continues, the investors have decided to “exit the arrangement.” The letter indicates the unwillingness from the part of investors to continue for next season and they are expected to “clear their commitments for the current season.”

    Mohammedan SC reunites with Bunkerhill

Kolkata based I-League side Mohammedan SC today evening announced that Bunkerhill will continue as their principal investor for the upcoming season of football.
Mohammedan SC was in search of a new investor for the last couple of months after the surprising exit of Bunkerhill. After being at the helm of MDSC for the last three years, Bunkerhill made a sudden exit ahead of the new season. Reports suggested a feud with club officials regarding the delay in share transfer triggered the investor’s exit.
But now it seems the MDSC officials have once again sorted things out with the Gurgaon-based company owned by Deepak Sing. As the recent press release from the club mentions, “Mohammedan Sporting Club has agreed to transfer 51 percent stake to Bunker Hill. The club has also agreed to hand over all responsibilities of the youth development program to the principal investor. And Mr. Kanishk Sheel, one of the directors of Bunker Hill, has been appointed as Mohammedan’s Vice President.

They might withdraw from the bidding. MSC treated them like shit. Over the last few years they did all dealings and just kept cuttings cheques from them. Now they longer pull the strings. They never bought majority stake like mb. 51 is good and now they can pull strings over executive decisions in club. With some push they can play in ISL soon.

Please read Indian companies Act. 51% doesnt give you jackshit when it comes to the Board formation. Unless you have 76% stake, you cannot take unilateral decisions in the board. That means MSC corrupt officials can simply upend everything whenever they want. Also the fan base is mostly hyped up, most Muslims in Bengal dont care about MSC anymore. They would actually get full houses if they move to Kerala.
