Colaco is finding coaching in Kolkata is different from coaching in Goa. With Dempo a loss didn't mean too much because there is hardly any fan base. The Management is also quite patient. With Churchill it is a bit different, being a family club... a loss or a string of losses did have its effect, still not as much as in Kolkata where the fans of Mohun Bagan & EB can never digest defeats. There is pressure from fans, media and management . Not only the Coach but for the players as well. Some can bear it, while most cann't. If Armando cann't do justice to his reputation as being the most successful Coach in India with this EB Team (which I still believe is the Best) then it is obvious that he can deliver only when there is no pressure at all and that too with a decent line up. If Karim was in charge of this EB team from the start of the season, I strongly believe EB would have been much much successful. People must understand that in India, pressure of coaching Mohun Bagan & EB is entirely different than coaching Dempo and others.. just like coaching Manchester United is different from coaching Everton. But to be fair Armando has proved that he is a bad loser by putting the blame on his players. EB has an excellent team but a bad coach.
in a team where mama is a first XI player, surely that can't be 'the best'.
But Mama is selected in the playing XI by the Coach.. even Mehtab and Dika are is not his favourites. He has more faith on Abranches than any other player. He couldn't solve the dispute between Chidih & Moga. Because of these I am still telling EB has an excellent team but a bad coach.
Dempo can only get a maximum of 43 points ,so I'll discount them from the analysis
BFC have to pick up maximum points against Rangdajied & the Jekyl & Hyde Churchill Brothers team, expect them to beat USC, the next 2 games are real 6 pointers for them and they'll probably drop a game & only get a point off those 2 ( 10 points )
SCdeGoa can see them coming unstuck against the "Kolkata giants", ( 8 points)
Pune FC; 8 games in a month will take its toll on this young squad, if any injuries to foreigners or Pavlovic doesn't settle ( he has a notorious temper) will see them slip up..( 9 points)
SLFC; although they have improved away from home, 5 games on the road as we head towards the summer will have its effect, that coupled with payment issues will see them slip away (5-6 points)
Salgaocar; have the best set of fixtures, 5 games in Goa, expect them to catch up lost ground ( 13 points)
East Bengal ; also have 5 games in Kolkata but 2 are derbies, so tough to predict ( 11 points)
Kushal Das: Bengaluru FC have shown the way for clubs in India
The AIFF’s bidding process for the I-League is expected to be floated around the second or third week of March and Das hopes that there will be investors hoping to follow in the footsteps of Bengaluru FC.
“I think there are interests from last year but because of various things, there wasn’t enough time. So there is a team from south who are quite interested. Let’s see. What Bengaluru FC has shown is that it can happen.”
“It was a little strange that after coming in with a bid, they pulled out. I think they kind of miscalculated the obligations. I think if we can get a team from south – Kerala or Chennai and one in north India that will be good. Let’s hope the bidding process works out,” informed Das.
Mike Snoei: 'Khalid Jamil and his actors should go to Bollywood'
When asked if he was disappointed, Snoei said the destructive football irked him even more and he would leave India if this continued. “This is a disgrace to football and I see it so many times. I work my socks off with a fantastic group of people at this club. We have five players around 18 years old, we try to adapt and we try to improve Indian football and if I see this, this anti-football of a starting coach who is on the big course of India then what is his contribution to Indian football," he expressed.
"And I don’t speak about tactics. Okay, we are the play-making team, they are the counter-attacking team. Okay, no problem. But if coaches like Khalid tell players to lie on the ground, and I see it a few times and I hear it from other colleagues also, this is a disgrace to Indian football. This is my first year and will be my final year in India if colleagues think they can improve football in this way," he declared.
You cannot tell players to lie on the ground. I see it every time with Khalid. And if you hear from the number 2 from Kazakhstan (Mumbai FC assistant coach) what he is saying to me, I almost jumped onto the pitch," he claimed.
"If you say things about my family, this is very bad behavior. He must do this in Kazakhstan or wherever he comes from. I don’t accept that. If this is the football in India then this is my final year," the Pune FC coach said.
