Except BFC, Dempo, Salgaocar & Pune fC. all others are struggling. But some comparatively low budget teams like Shillong Lajong, Rangdajied, Mumbai Fc have done really well. Actually they chose their Foreigners well. The big guns only run after names and rope in them when they are nearly finished. That's why I like the approach of Mohun Bagan in not really making an effort for Ranty. But you never know.. Anjan Mitra may jump out from his sick bed and order to get a known Foreigner who offers good cut-money !

Sorry... with Mohammedans around.... EB dream of playing in AFC (by default) will never materialize. Mohammedans prove that whatever goes up surely comes down.
With all their limitations, Mumbai FC decided to go for Yukubu who despite being nearly 40 y is still fit and sincere. That recruitment gave them a few precious points in the 2nd. leg. They are always accused of time wasting, but who in Indian Football do not indulge in it thanks to some really poor referees. Over all I think Mumbai Fc has done much better than some other hi-profile teams considering their limited budget.
It is time I-League teams show the door to Odafa, Moga, Kalu, Suoeka and a few others and inject some fresh exciting talents. But after a year or so we would rise their price tag so high that they would lose their head and become a paasanger.
Yakubu doesn't start seasons, always makes some visa / family excuse, so he can join after pre-season or when team is in shit.....play 50% of the games rather than a full season .
Clever ploy from the grand old man of Indian football
clubs in India have short term memories, they remember the last few games, players who start the season well and fade away struggle to get clubs vs players who start slowly but finish well.
If Yak had to join a team for pre-season and play a full season , he would struggle to maintain such form
This season clubs have benefitted from a "draft" system...
The bottom most clubs in a Draft system league get 1st pick of the best players...
This I-League the bottom teams were the 1st to jump at this opportunity, the IMG-R players had been paid by IMG-R , so you had a pool of good players that you could get for free or nominal amounts given their market value.
Mohd Sporting, Rangdajied & Mumbai FC all took full advantage of this..
RUFC & MFC were helped greatly by IMG-R players, Mohd Sporting screwed their recruitment policy from day one , and the IMG-R players only caused a greater divide amongst their squad
Rafiq of USC is confirmed in EB. Manish is almost set to return with Green-Maroon Colour. Its learnt Ranti is set to sign EB. Subhas Bhowmick will find his foreigners in MB. He had produced good foreigners for Churchill earlier. I hope he will keep that recors here also. Sueka & Chidi have proposals from Dempo. Interesting Dempo is proposing Sueka. Is there any possibility that they will leave Tolgey. But I heard they are very happy with Tolgey. Col Glen in that radar of MB also along with EB.
