Well hopefully it is Pune. He has a great base at the club. Great facilities (in terms of Indian football), a nice up and coming Academy, and the distiction of coaching at one of the two most professional clubs in India. Just rebuild the side. Pune and the higher ups should now see that their plan of "building young" was never going to work because expections are just to high.
IMO, Pune should start a revamp from 2014-15. They are now behind Bengaluru FC. Rebuild the squad and rebuild the way they interact with fans. Really make a push now. It is now or never.
Re. " rebuild the squad and rebuild the way they interact with fans..."
What fans...Pune FC have the kids from the Sports Hostel at Balewadi attend the games for free and some friends and families. The ticket sales at Pune probably never cross 500 !
Although we are going offtopic, the lack of fans for Pune FC is worrisome. Few years back, Balewadi stadium Indoor complex hosted World Junior Volleyball Championship and crowd of 10000 used to come for India games. World Series Hockey Pune Franchise managed 3000-4000 crowd at Hockey Stadium in Pimpri which is even further. IPL Cricket had awesome crowd in excess of 25000 even though stadium is far far away.
Pune FC lack of crowd is baffling. I lived in Pune for 4 years and it had a cosmopolitan feel. South Indian population is huge (Kirkee) who love the Sport. There used to be Spicer College which had huge number of African Students in late 1990s and they used to organise one Africa Cup of Nations of African Students from different countries studying in Pune. Even that tournament had 5000 plus crowd. All that Sports culture is gone I guess.
@gaffertape That is what I mean. They can't just live off kids... that to getting in on a free. Pune FC I think need to revamp themselves or something like that because, like @munna219777 said, Pune does/did have the potential to draw 5000-10000 fans a game. Hell, even I have been to a Pune FC game years ago and it was not that hard to get from my hotel in Pune to the Balewadi Stadium.
It can be done but they now need to rethink the way they market and interact. Just boasting about there great facebook numbers and professionalism won't do that.
