    @ ArsenalFan700 Which defender is overrated? Dhanachandra/Bello?

    Dhanachandra... perhaps Bello but I always thought he was solid before the 2013-14 season but people on here have said he looked bad this season.

    @Soccerlover
    Dhanachandra has a long throw, can play left back and sometimes Centre Back, lost some of his pace since his knee injury circa his Air India days.
    Given he has plied his trade for Utd SC ( 2 seasons ), Mumbai FC ( 1 season) , Air India ( 1 season ) and some time at Churchill and other clubs before  ....
    At best he can be considered a journeyman defender ,strong and handy against tough Nigerians, but prone to give away a few PK's each season due to his rash defending.

    Now if the grand old club of Indian football is trying to move away from being relegation material and try to challenge for the title, then is this the kind of player they should be targeting ?

    Bello is touching 40yrs old, another left back , pretending to be a centre back. His best days were in Goa and a good season for Viva Kerela. Good pace, but his overconfidence and attacking tendencies with the ball make him a liability at the back. Surprisingly good in the air for a short guy

    Should be playing 2nd Division I-League....there are hundreds of players out there who will come to play in India for $8000/month , so why waste in excess of 40Laks for Bello !!

    Cut money to Subrata "Bablu-Da" Bhattacharya must be a reason behind these 2 moves

    @gaffertape  I would say Dhanachandra is an utility player. He is a sturdy left back and Souvik Ghosh is a bit "soft" defender; also, i guess , Dhanachandra is more of an attacking/overlapping left back - so probably he wud double up as a left-half also ; All in all - i would say a sensible signing from amongst the group available.

    Regarding Bello - am not sure, whether this news is true.

    Quality wise there is hardly any difference btwn Eche/Bello; however as u said the pluses are good header/good pace which might hv gone in his favour; Bagan, mind u, hv been pathetic at dead ball last season - this was one aspect missing in Karim's tenure. Also if its $8000/ month, he would come at a cheaper price than Eche!
