2021-2022 Kerala Premier League will feature 22 teams split into 2 groups. EMS Stadium, Calicut and Maharajas College, Kochi will host groups A and B respectively.

  • 11 teams il 1 group. even if they play 1 game agaisnst each team, that means 11 games minimum for a team. good to see new clubs based on place name like Wayanad,Areekode,Parappur. anyone knows what is AIFA, LIFFA.
  • good to see large number of teams, next time KFA should make a compulsory team from each of the 14 districts in kerala. now it is mostly concentrated in malabar region.

AIFA - Altius International Football Academy based in Malappuram / Palakkad
LiFFA - Little Flower Football Academy Trivandrum

I was shocked to see Ebin Das (2020 U16 international) in LiFFA's squad list. Looks like he came up through this academy.

Most new teams are academies who were earlier active in AIFF & KFA youth leagues.
  • just noticed under the KFA logo the tagline - We Build Your Career. LOL what kind of tagline is this. :D :D

since KPL is more like a cup tournament than a proper league, there should be a another proper knockout cup tournament held afterwards so that teams get another set of games.

22 team league means lot of famous teams have failed in Kerala Premier League 21-22.

The league is inching towards its end and from group B, KSEB and Golden Threads FC have qualified for the semi-final.

In group A, there is a 3-way fight at the top between Sports Academy Tirur (SAT), Kerala Police and Basco FC.

Well known teams like Kerala United, Gokulam Kerala (R), FC Kerala, Luca SC and Kerala Blasters (R) are all out of contention.

However, it's so good to see 22 teams getting 10 games each in group stage. That's 110 games conducted by KFA.

PS: I was going through some busy days, so couldn't update the results like last edition.
