@Deb_Ban...just reverse the case, Sanjay Sen call a player for playing a match or trial for MB & player does not come up in time whether he will give the chance player for that season I have serious dghout on him.Thats why I called this Sanjay Corocodile cry for Debjit. He & MB sets a dengourous precedent for MY not releasing the player in time.At that time why Sanjay not telling club that National Team is a top priority & Debjit to proud for NT selection. This kind of precedent should stop forever when a playing for his country. BTW I am not supporting SC.
If Debjit turned up late or didnt show up on time...as per FIFA rules then the player / club can be sanctioned.
If Constantine wants long preparation camps which are beyond the FIFA rules of 48 / 72 hrs then clubs are well within their rights.
What everyone seems to have ignored is.... Debjit is NOT a good goalkeeper.... if he plays for India NT then we are making a mockery of things.
He pulls off the occasional good save, but he is what in GK terms we call a " Dracula" Ie. He is afraid of CROSSES !
he comes for almost every ball and flaps his palms at them, seldom getting good distance or direction. He gives away needless corners due to indecision too.
He reminds me of a lot of maidan GK's who prefer to dive rather than use their feet.
He is also unable to handle the physical side of the games at the higher level.
But that said, Constantine should be more tactful given how unpopular he is.
From whatever little knowledge I have of football, Debjit is definitely a good goalkeeper....in fact along with Gurpreet and Amrinder (who seems to have lost some form of late) one of the best in the country right now...has been producing consistent performances for MB over the last two years and earned plaudits from all quarters for his excellent performance in this year's ISL...has brilliant reflexes and is an excellent shot-stopper....has a very down-to-earth attitude and is always willing to learn....the one problem he has is his height and his sense of outing...but he almost makes it up in other aspects...on current form, I would say that only Gurpreet is better than him
If Debjit is good, he should be considered. If he is bad, he shouldn't. If he ignored a call from the NT coach (why was he called in the first place if he is not good enough?), he or his club (because they were the party who did not release him) should have been penalized for that occasion. Here, AIFF is not tackling the problem at the outset and penalizing the player for good, and leaving the club from any censure.
He is among the top keepers in the country. Not the best. Gurpreet Singh Sandhu obviously pretty much has the #1 spot locked on, but Debjit is good enough for a call-up.
Vishal Kaith is unable to Handel pressure. even Kattimani is better then Kaith. my best 3 are Gurpreet,Amrinder and Subrata. only good players India produces are goalkeepers.

Gurpreet,Amrinder ,Vishal Kaith ,Subrata Paul , Then Debjit ,karanjit ,Arindam ...
Gurpreet, Amrinder and Subrata as Top 3 GK
Debjit , Lalthuammawia & Karanjit in Top 6
Vishal Kaith, Arindam , & Rehensh in Top 10
So all this talk by Constantine and Sanjoy Da is pointless..... he isn't worthy of a squad place
