@ashindia Commentators don't know man. They were guessing like you. I know Nepali. Watched the match for 10-15 min or so. The commentators didn't look so much knowledgeable to me honestly. The problem is that people don't know Islam in details and comment on it. That's the sad part.
Though Moeen Ali the cricketer keeps fast during the matches also. When asked he said it is something he is doing voluntarily. He wants to push himself. But during a football in Kathmandu summer it is next to impossible, not needed or required also as per scriptures.
Some footballers have commented that this becomes an issue only during home match. While travelling they do not fast. Some will change their routine. At the end of the day, they are all professionals. Not everyone fast and not everyone will come on camera and say that they will not Fast. Personal life, religion and personal choices should not be a matter of speculation.
