No Arab club or Asian club overall would take him on. He would count as a foreign player which would be one of 4-5 spots.

I am honestly disappointed with this move, but I understand that since he wasn't getting any gametime it wasn't wise to stay but he could have tried for other teams or other leagues....or he isn't that good?

Money or no money Gurpreet has done amazingly well in recent Indian games. He deserves the spot ahead of others.

His outing is still suspect and he always was a good shot stopper. If he stays back in India, it's a given that his development would stop. Why not groom a good number 2? Why have Paul in the squad?
