my take on the match was it was poor all around. Mumbai looked knackered, they miss anelka & now Moritz for a threat up front. subhash is enthusiastic but not much support. unless they can get their actual top 11 players in the pitch its gonna be a struggle for them to try and make it to playoffs.
Neufc - good team unit but seriously lack pace and attacking power. clear indication on quality is when they were caught offside a number of times despite having numerical superiority. nonetheless they got the attention they need now and these are crucial points for them to finish mid table or even think of attempting playoffs.
ps: will be quietly confident when these two meet chennai at home. great news for us when Mumbai come to chennai in some sort of trouble.
Fatigue is taking its toll on the quality of the matches. As much as we would like to see higher tempo matches, the players are more likely to hold back with the next match in mind.
Fatigue is not only because of less gap between the games. fatigue is also because of travel involved. Some of the venues are reached from one city to other city by changing the flights. One day goes in travel only. As @gaffertape pointed out, Game + Recovery session + travel + pre game session +game. Travel and Hotel is slowly taking its toll especially amongst oldies.
From what I have noticed till now is that, the mistakes have decreased but speed of the game has also slowed down considerably. Problem is we have been so accustomed to watching high paced premier league games that seeing this make us feel like WTF!! why aren't they running?
