I do not agree with panchgun. The UAE team will be our guests & we should treat them as guests are treated in India. Anyway we should have a vision to build a strong football team which can defeat UAE 10/10 even with 9 men on field.
Dude really!! I m not saying that we should poison them or hit them ,what i m saying that in the stadium we should create such an atmosphere that those Bedouins never ever even think abt robbing us and disrespecting us anymore.
No more of this attitude that bcoz we r Indians so we will tolerate anything, that was old India my friend .Our values remain the same but if u provoke us and intimidate us we r not going to shy away from giving it back to u.
I thought of taking a nasty banner against the referee. But then decided not to because i'm going with my dad. <!-- s:whistle: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/eusa/whistle.gif" alt="" title="Whistle" /><!-- s:whistle: -->

After five years of playing the long- ball game under Bob Houghton, the Indian football team is now playing the possession game preached by coach Armando Colaco. That decision appeared justified after a look at the Vasant Valley school ground, where the team was training ahead of the second leg of their World Cup qualifier against the UAE on July 28.
A cricket pitch in the middle of the ground meant any long pass or any training exercise involving more than half the width of the ground was next to impossible. The players ultimately had to make use of a relatively lush patch in a corner of the ground. A member of the squad was overheard saying it was a disgrace that ahead of such a crucial World Cup qualifier, the national team had to train at such a facility.
It is the host federation that decides ahead of an international match where the teams will practice. While the Ambedkar stadium will be utilised for the match itself, the AIFF’s choice of a school ground beggars belief when better facilities like the Thyagaraj Stadium, where the DSA senior division league is scheduled to be held, exist.
That the senior team would need a place to practice should not have come as a surprise especially since World Cup qualification draws were released on March 31, almost four months ago. When asked, the AIFF chose not to comment.

Dude cool it. You can support your team, yelling loudly, vehemently even, standing up if you please, all without disrepecting the opposition. Not all 11 players dived, one man did (I'm not counting the striker falling for the first red card a dive, because he was fouled, and any self respecting footballer in front of goal having his shoulder tugged at would have dived, even Bhutia, especially Bhutia). Blame the ref all you want, but there is no evidence that the UAE team paid him, and until there is, show them the respect that world class footballers deserve.
Secondly, always remember that in sports disrespect often is a bigger driver of performance than support. Remember Zaheer's jelly bean incident the last time we toured England? An even better example is this response from Reggie Miller when he was taunted in NYC by Spike Lee.

My point is that you don't want to give the UAE team something to rally around. And nothing rallies these guys, many educated kids from middle class families, like the Bedouin taunt. In any case, you really shouldn't throw around that term as if that's a swear word. Bedouins survived in the inhospitable climate for thousands of years and helped propagate international trade between Asia and Europe. They had their place in the world order, you may not respect it, but don't make it sound worse than it is.
After going down to UAE 3-0 in the first leg of the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers, India will have to do something special to upset the Middle East side in the home match to be played on July 28 at the Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi.
Armando Colaco though believes that his side is very much in the contention and will put his best foot forward.
‘’it’s a new game. We will try to put our best foot forward. We know we have a tough task in hand, but we are ready for the next encounter and if we can get an early goal, the result can be overturned,’’ said Armando.
The coach was full praise for goalkeeper Karanjit Singh, who had a brilliant game after Subrata Pal was given the marching order in the last game.
‘’Karanjit played exceptionally well in the last match. I know, Subrata is great goalkeeper, but nothing can be taken away from Karanjit,’’ He added.
‘’Our defence will have to play a very compact game. These boys are really talented and putting in everything to do well for the country. They are very eager to play and leave a mark in the home match,’’ He concluded.
India’s star striker Sunil Chhetri believes that despite going down to UAE 3-0 in the away leg, the Indian team is still in contention and it’s all about getting the act right.
India takes on UAE on July 28 in the home leg with a huge task in their hands and will need to give everything to get a positive result.
‘’ We are up for the task. It’s just a matter of getting the act right and once we get an early goal, we can put pressure on the opponent,’’ said Chhetri.
‘’We have the home advantage and will look to capitalise on that,’’ He added.
‘’Everyone is aware of the challenge and will need to put in everything to achieve a positive result in the match,’’ the former Sporting Kansas striker added.
India were down to nine men after Debabrata Roy and Subrata Pal were given the marching order and the Armando Colaco’s Boys gave their hearts out putting up a brave performance.
‘’The credits goes to each and everyone for putting up such a brilliant display after we were down to nine men. ‘’
‘’Also Karanjit had a great game and its gives us the confidence that we have two reliable goalkeepers in the team. But at the same time, the absence of Subrata will be felt as not only he is a great goalkeeper but also manages the defence quite well,’’ Delhi lad concluded.
