I am not talking about year long league... But about clubs which are commited for entire year and not only during 4-6 month of the year... I was really positive that these clubs will work on something spectacular during off season .. but far has been pretty disappointed
Better question is (no offense to Kolkata)... why would Kaka leave Orlando for Kolkata? Kaka is also friends with the Orlando owner and is the highest payed player in MLS (over $7,000,000 a year apparently). Maybe in 3-5 years.
@Shankar I am surprised you are disappointed. Personally I am somewhat happy. I am not fully on board this yet but so far it seems like things are better. We now have clear understanding of the roster rules, the salary cap is reasonable, teams like NorthEast United seem to be unstable but at least they are separating themselves from their I-League unstable counterpart. Meanwhile, you have players and coaches praising the league.
It is honestly not bad so far. Also, no international draft and the retention system seems like a good idea to get rid of the bad Indian players like Renedy or Yadav. For a league entering Season 2 this is not bad at all.
