Players released after being included in the initial retention list drawn up by franchisees: Fikru Teferra, Jofre Mateu Gonzalez (Atletico de Kolkata), Bruno Herrero Arias, Kristof van Hout, Wim Raymaekers (Delhi Dynamos), Iain Hume (Kerala Blasters), Andre Moritz, Nicolas Anelka (Mumbai City), Jermaine Pennant, Bruno Cirillo, Krisztian Vadocz (FC Pune City).
Iain Hume was being offered bloody $100,000 for 2-3 months work! Thank god he was released, he is good but he was not the best player in the ISL and nor is he $100,000 good!
So I was just looking at my usual places for football news and when looking at news for MLS I saw there was yet another article released by some older but experienced journalist who once again disparaged the MLS and said that Americans will never watch soccer etc etc.
I was reading the comments for that article and I saw some good things, one of which was someone saying that Americans like things to happen quick, not gradual and that made me think of here where when we talk about ISL we talk about how there are no academies, no glamour for the national team etc etc and then someone posted a comment about the history of some of the better sports leagues in the US like the NFL or NBA and how many of them had to wait years... many years... before rising to the place they're at today.
Could this apply here as well? Is there a chance that we could perhaps just wait for things to happen and just hope it will be for the best?
