The commentator in Asianet is an encyclopedia in Football , From international level to local level he used to provide hell lots of information . Only problem is sometimes he get overexcited on kerala blasters game
If only Peter Taylor wasn't so scared of his team attacking and playing football, Kerala would have run away with this game. Goa were poor and lucky to get anything from the game, but we have all seen this a thousand times in football - playing poorly and still winning.
The biggest problem Kerala Blasters have is the ultra-negative defensive approach by their coach. They started the game with 5 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders plus Sanchez Watt nursing a hangover. That is 7/10 outfield players on the pitch to make sure the opposition doesn't attack. What is the point in stuffing a team full of defenders? If you assign responsibility to players, there is absolutely no need to play 3 centre backs. Even then, they did well going forward but it was always going to be difficult to create clear cut chances with so little attacking impetus on show. I suspect there won't be any change in the type of play Taylor wants and we will see Kerala unfortunately not qualifying and perhaps even finishing bottom two.
As for the players, When Mohd. Rafi plays better than you, you know you better fucking pick it up. Sanchez Watt is a boob, and even at this level, he looks slow in his decision making and link up play. It can't help playing with a hangover though. You have to question the coaching staff from picking him when we know he was drunk so unprofessionally the day before the game. There are good players at KB like Bheke, Mehtab, Lobo and even Rafi who has stepped it up for this season, and no doubt playing for Keralam has given him the lift. Vineeth for me has been the stand out Indian player for KB.
For Goa, I struggle to see anyone who stood out. Leo Moura looked tired, Jonatan was no effective and Bikramjit was poor. Colacau certainly the poorest Goa player on the pitch, and Reinaldo and Duffy both got no luck out of Jhingan when they went over to his side. Arnolin looked strong and Narayan looks a little better, but this was a tired performance from Goa, and a more attack minded team would have beaten them easily, like Chennaiyin routed them.
