I too was wondering if this is the same Eugeneson Lyngdoh. Personally, I never liked this player. He was a total failure today. He cant do even elementary basic stuff. Cant understand how Platt played him the full 90 min. And if Pune are going to depend on him to move the game forward, then Pune is in deep trouble. Zakora is more defence minded and is not creative. The best option would be to keep Simonsen on bench and play Tuncay in the mid with Uche/Mutu/Ruiz upfront.
Zakora was good in the match. kept elano quiet which is something.
Y would u drop ur best goalie just to accomadate a rusted mutu? u could take ruiz out and put in mutu as a proper stricker with tuncay a elano type of role. that added to wing threat could be a better bet for pune.
Again I say, playing a foreigner as GK is a waste. Rarely will he do something extraordinary (like today). And Arindham is not bad. Play any two (Wesley/Uche/Mutu/Ruiz) upfront. And Tuncay behind them. Pune wont do well with a single striker. And their wings were clipped today and cant be depended on.
oh u should see shilton paul keeping last season to see the benefit of a foriegn GK. sure they make mistakes but saving alone isnt his final task, it is about organizing the defense and knowing when to come for the ball and when not.
u may have good indian gk, but u will still end up with foriegn GK when critical/playoff matches come. clue all 4 teams had foriegn Gk by the time we had playoffs last season.
although karanjit made a good cause for himself this match.
Zico should be fined for going against the spirit of the Pvt circus....if he is not stopped then he might actually start giving starts to talented U 19 players next....

Ithink fc Goa should get Beckham to become player manager and if he is too busy with his Miami franchise then it should get Gerrard/piero or lampard
