The second phase of the Second Division I League will be organised by the Assam football Association (AFA) at Bokakhat, Dergaon and Golaghat from April 21.
Altogether eight teams are vying for the top slot which will earn a berth in the I League.

The teams playing in the first phase which is going on at Siliguri. Lonester Kashmir FC, Chandmari FC, Aizwal FC (both Mizoram) are leading the table with nine points each till now while United Club, Mohammedan Sporting (both Kolkata, 6 points each), Hindustan FC (Delhi, 3 points), Premier India FA and Kenkre Sports (both Mumbai, no point) are following the table leader.

Addressing a press conference here today the AFA secretary Ankur Dutta informed that daily four matches will be played in different venues and the teams will get two days rest after the matches. Bokakhat Stadium, Golaghat Stadium and the Police Training College, Dergaon are the venues for the championship.

I like the small rise of Lonestar Kashmir after they were defeated in their first match. Kinda hope they get promoted over Aizawl.

Aizawl FC has been there and knocking the door of i-league for some seasons now. They have slowly developed as a major club in Mizoram with many basic infrastructure in place. Among all the clubs in 2nd divison, this club is the most suited for promotion and I prefer this than anything. Major advantage that Aizawl has it a guaranteed support from locals. Having said that, if promoted I dont know how much Aizawl will be able to compete (both  in terms of finance and in terms of player quality) for the whole season with other I-league teams, as I haven't seen them play only followed them through IFN and other news sources. Probably @mizo can give more info on that. But, I guess it wont matter in the end as we can see with RWFC this season.
Same is story for Chanmari FC.

On comparison, Lonestar though has a good team. But, I don't see local connection for the team with this being a more Punjab team. Heck this team was built just before the i-league 2 division. I am not saying that should be the criteria for discrimination but wont it be better to have team with more local connect. We already have such team Bharat FC for example.

    Cheering for Aizawl meanwhile!!

True but Lonestar Kashmir did field a bunch of Kashmiri players in the U19 I-League. It is not exactly easy (or the best decision) to use Kashmiri players in the 2nd Division as you would get blown away like PIFA and Kenkre do.

Since they are Punjabi players... they are my team now!

    COME ON LONESTAR KASHMIR!!!!
