So ya, apparently this round has already began on 31st March when Bengaluru FC defeated Sporting Clube de Goa 4-1. I have no idea anymore with the AIFF on how this stuff works but we can only assume the worst.
Anywho! I-League action is here for those who can't stand the cricket frenzy and it is a hot one currently! Four teams are separated by only five points but the top team has an advantage with two games in hand! The relegation race meanwhile looks bleak as Sporting Clube de Goa trail 10th place Dempo by 3 points and they have played 2 more games than the Eagles. Saving grace however is that they have already played so hopefully Dempo can lose for them and Sporting Goa can only be ahead by 1 match. Not good news for Bengaluru FC though as their opponents for the title can squeeze further ahead.
The round re-starts then on Saturday with two matches in the afternoon. In Mumbai, Mumbai FC will host Dempo. Mumbai have been on a slump recently, failing to win in 5 matches. No word as of yet whether Khalid Jamil will appear on the touchline as he fears for his life after the Mumbai FC ghost decided to throw an invisible bottle at Jamil after Jamil failed to re-sign Luis Barreto, the ghost's favorite enemy. Dempo meanwhile will hope that this match can spring some life into them as they have also been without a victory since January!
The other match will feature leaders Mohun Bagan hosting Bharat FC! Mohun Bagan have so far played 11 matches and have not lost yet, they have gone half a season invincible but will Stuart Watkiss and his men of Lioness' end the story yet to be written? This one has the smell of surprise in it!!!!
We shall then conclude the day with title challengers Pune hosting East Bengal. East Bengal will be playing their second straight game in Pune after they won 3-0 over Bharat FC in their last match. Can Eelco Schattorie, Ranti Martins, Dudu, and the mighty might of Lalrindika Ralte halt Pune in there pursuit for the title? Only one way to find out! Meanwhile, Pune will enter this match with their mood being decided probably based on the result in Kolkata earlier during the day.
The round shall then conclude on Sunday with THE SHILLONG DERBY! Who will have the bigger schlong!? Will it be Royal Wahingdoh, the title challengers, or Shillong Lajong, the ISL babies? Which team has the higher average age on paper and in reality? Who will have the better North Korean? Find out during this match on Sunday!!!! Sunday Night Football! HELL YA!
