just look at the routes to success of those players I mentioned :
    1. Thoi Singh : leaves title winning Salgaocar , conned by Bhutia to join Utd Sikkim ( doesn't get paid properly) , can't get an I-League club , so joins Dodsal / Mumbai Tigers,  jumps on board to BFC at right time before Dodsal folds.... and 2 years later in ISL
    2. Euegenson Lyngdoh : opts for Engineering course after impressing at School / College level in Bangalore , drops out of 3rd year of Engineering , starts playing Shillong League , gets spotted by Pradyum Reddy at SLFC who signs him ( Eugene plays for free)  , then shafted by Des Bulpin he leaves to play for Rangdajied, who despite avoiding the drop are removed from I-League... joins up at BFC and now top talent in country !
    3. Brandon Fernandes : screwed over by agents after impressing in South Africa and on trials in Europe . Work permit issues , and then later issues with South African club and agency , stall his career.  Get's screwed over by National team coaches, and now rightfully playing in ISL
    4. Sehnaj Singh : ditched after Pailan Arrows, rescued by Mumbai FC , scores a wonder goal against Kolkata club , who later sign him , and he proves his worth...
INDIAN football isn't straight forward , and loads of similar stories in EPL too..

    @Ashlesh
that happens everywhere and accept politics has a role to play
    BUT
Look at Alvito D'Cunha.... supremely talented, but chose to waste his career away , content being "player-coach" that never plays, yet gets a nice fat pay check each year. He prefers the politics to playing !?

Now I know where you are coming from , and the frustrations of seeing good players struggle to come out of Goa clubs because of the politics , the same can be echoed in Kolkata & the NorthEast. No doubt loads of Bangalore footballers will claim that BFC doesn't pick any of them...

but the issue at hand is the 72 and the letter that Armando wrote..... ISL 2 has better Indians in it than ISL 1 , and there are only a handful of deserving players that should be in that aren't
All we need is to weed out those who shouldn't have been in ISL 1 , yet have survived to ISL 2 and replace with the players that we all want to see in it.

this will take a few years.....

Sony Norde most likely to be the marquee player for Mohun Bagan this season, having played as a substitute in the CONCACAF Cup this year. Georgie Welcome's future at the club is uncertain. Meanwhile, along with Iain Hume, Chennaiyan FC attacking midfielder Bruno Palissari is also on the radar of East Bengal. Any idea how he qualifies as a marquee player?

@Gaffertape agree with Gaffertape here , but hope we will kick players like gurung , deepak , Wadoo soon !

Also brandon would have been playing in Europe if he had non greedy agents ! 2 time he was so near to that pro contract but both time missed by unrealistic demand of ASD and ASD owner Son ( who was his agent )

He will be 21 this and his contract will finish with that Management agency !! Hope then he will able to move out !

i knew gaffer would turn around or atleast somewhat. lets face it best indians werent available in ISL 1. but this time around who can ignore the sheer enthusiasm that these players showed when they finally were allowed to play this season.

sure they make a decent chunk of money out of this. in fact its win win all around.. but these are things they never expedienced. they also know they need to perform well to be retained by the franchises and thats good news all around.

what rippling effect this will have only time will tell.. But if this trend continuous we will have less and less people taking up professional football due to the dilemma --''Can I earn for full 1 year"..also note span for players are much less than normal jobs..so they need to earn high for te quota of years they play..

performing to stay on top Is good, but if you know there is very less room and only a few can fit into the scheme of things, how many do you think is going to take that plunge. 'Survival of Fittest' is fine, but to be the best of the fittest you need to have a larger talent pool

ArsenalFan700 agree with that statement.. that was the case of Romeo fernandes in isl season 1. we only saw Romeo Fernandes play last 15 min under Armando and make those speedy runs on the flanks. as ArsenalFan700 said TIMING ..its where Romeo used his opportunity very well. Romeo was never a starting X1 player for Fc zico until Gabriel was injured and taken out and missed several matches. that was the TIMING part which changed Romeo's career. it just blossomed his doomed career with goals coming from him.those runs from him.right person at right place. Everything went so right for him. as many of them said his talents got exposed at ISL. then comes the confidence. we all know how confidently he played for dempo for federation cup after isl just to lose the match in finale
