This must be the age of franchisee football (if not franchisee everything):

Kolkata-based CMG had offered the Bangla Fed a 8-team franchisee league a la 'the hugely successful' ISL.Again a UK company has offered them another franchisee league. It seems Reliance is interested in the venture.

So another fed about to jumble up their league 'for more eyeballs' ...

At this point, I just hope "franchise sports league" does not become associated with "money making bullshit".

Sorry to disappoint ... these leagues are being proposed not by the Feds, but by businesses who have 'interests' in sports. So there you have it ...

How about a SAFF club championship on lines of AFC cup with 2 invited sides from maybe Jleague 2nd div/aussie reigonal league/s league mid table team. Will be good all around and will draw crowds as well...
