the Board could possibly explore two options to ensure that the IPL remains an eight-team event.
"The BCCI can run the two teams for two years and the original owners can come back after the ban period is over. The other option is to invite fresh bids for two new teams since many corporates have expressed an interest in buying an IPL team,"
I don't think ISL will be affected anytime. It is basically the Ambanis' private league. And it is not noted by FIFA as the premier football league of India. They can run it the way they want. I recall in the first edition, they were thinking to split matches in three half-hour plays, presumably for benefit of the players in the heat (actually for getting more ad slots in TV).
Nothing weird will ever happen in ISL..Cricket is different..The stars in IPL are Indian while here the foreign players are..You can ask a Bhutia to play a game of 4 halves but never a Elano or the likes..Doing somethng stupid would mean no sane foreign player or coach will ever come to India..

Its time they start expanding the league.. by 2017 10 teams don't sound bad...
They should go for two new bids possibly from Gujarat and somewhere in UP possibly as there are very few teams from north present
