Yes that is the Eden, Argentina team had Buruchaga, Ramos, Caniggia and so on (unbelievable). Uruguay had Nadal, Fransischoli. I was in the stadium in the match against Hungary -- saw Laszlo Kiss in action!
Incidentally, I cross path with Jamshid Nassiri everyday on Park Street -- he to the Maidan for practice, and I to my office for earning bread ...
@Hassan very hard to pick mate. Just picking few names I liked and think they could play abroad -
1. Jo Paul Anchery (Enormous physical presence with good aerial ability, he was double footed)
2. Khalid Jamil (Calm composed mideo)
3. Ilias Pasa (Cool stopper back before Dipak - Mahesh era)
4. VP Satyan (Best stopper of India. Always earned respect from foreign coaches. Sadly he became Robert Enke of India football)
5. Venkatesh (Nothing to say, ,most of you must have seen him but I liked him for his creativity and ball control)
6. Basudeb Mondal (He actually played in Nepal & Bangladesh but too little for International football)
7. Satyajit Chatterjee (Very talented but too little for International football)
8. Akil Ansari (Hard working Akramav's fav)
9. Bruno Coutinho (The best attacking mid but was a moody fellow. Sadly Baichung, IMV and Bruno never played together for NT)
10. Shankarlal Chakrabarty (From early TFA batches and was a box to box midfielder first of its kind in India sadly he broke his leg thrice, quit football within 30 and now asst coach of MMB)
This is from my head, there were many great talents but with limited infra and lack of International exposure all withered with time. (Kept Baichung, IMV, Subrata Paul, Sunil out of topic as everyone of this forum must have watched them)
Honestly, a lot of Indian players could play abroad and should. I would love to see a current guy like Sandesh Jhingan come to the United States and play in the NASL.
Really... you really think they would waste the Asian slot on him... especially Chinese sides when they can use their Asian slot on some Japanese, Korean, or Australian from there top leagues.
The NASL may be the second division is the US/Canada but at least the level of play is higher than I-League, the facilities are better, and the professionalism is better than I-League. Also I believe Sandesh Jhingan could get a lot of game time if he played for a side like FC Edmonton or Ottawa Fury etc.
Also if he does well then who knows, an MLS side sees an Indian do well in the NASL, sees a better marketing opportunity than Chhetri was.
@mohammed_87hassan I can see that. There defense is basically a bunch of New Zealanders and he could potentially contend with them for a starting spot and if not the experience would be good.

And they can get better player like Sandesh
Never watched him play
