Atleast there are crowds coming to watch a football match! The visibility of the game is improving . An Indian tournament is being discussed outside India, Some big stars are coming here to play. What more do you want from a tourney 1 year old?
Thank the isl that people outside Bengal and maybe Goa and North east know of a football league being played in India. I-league was never marketed well and whatever is happening today is coz of its failure.

I am in Delhi at the moment and no one is even watching ISL forget talking about it. Wherever ISL is being played football was already a known sport there with loads of local history attached. In Delhi Pune its an out and out flop show despite the gimmickbaazi. Only Chennai is a bright spot but they might not play in ISL for long ;)

tum Robin Singh ke bhakt bi nahi ho

Chennnai will not be there for Long ?????
with no CSK for next 2 year's CFC has a big chance to make itself cities biggest Sporting Franchise

we got 7k rise in attendance for 1st match from over attendance last year isn't it enough to show we are growing

I can tell next Match this weekend will have same attendance

@east bengal pride- You don't live in Delhi so best not to pass judgement on it. I live in South delhi which is the part jln is in and i can tell you that that the 15-25 y.o. bracket is keenly interested in isl and is following it.

interest se kuch nahi hoga interest generate karna bari baat nahi!!! we hav to copy system of youth development, like paying wages to academy players giving them proper health insurance nd proper academies where they practise football 2 times a day!!! thats we want!!!! if ISL clubs do that then I am also an ISL fan, if not then ISL dnt hav any right to proclaim they are developing football !!! they ar just event organizers!!!!

or stadium jane se hai yeh prove nahi ho jata ke aap bohot bare football fan he !!! I know what happens in delhi!! itz da same as in kolkata !! Youth development ke naam pe scam hota hai!!!! Example - DD want to play in BRICS 2016 !! they want to make an u16 team but where is their preparation !! Do you see them making academies !!! If money spent by ISL Franchises  shud be spent on grooming academy we would be sure of a great performance in wc 2017 but still we are unsure if stdiums will be ready or not forget about putting a team that wud reach QF's!!!! #sadstateofindianfootball

Well, ask the same thing about I league clubs? If they had done their bit, there would never have been an ISL. The era of "chalta rahe" attitude is over.

ISL franchisees are contractually bound to build academies within 5 years. It's absurd to ask them to immediately build an Academy in the first year. If they don't keep their word, I will also be opposing them.

  • I don't understand this thing that no one is discussing ISL on the streets of Delhi and  Pune..I mean where does people do that anyways, unless it's cricket??.

Also when we ask so much from the ISL Clubs in a year I would like to remember that the I-league clubs have done very little in all these years..Being a Mohun Bagan fan i can tell you that the supporters have unmatched passion for the club which none of the ISL can ever possibly have..But what has the club given us in return?...NOTHING...Not even a home ground to enjoy football..

ISL has its flaws and there should be debate about that no doubt..But if i lived in Chennai or Kochi ,where no professional football has been played in a long time and no clubs to root for in a national level competition; I am sure i would have been a passionate KBFC or CFC supporter for sure and wanted the ISL to succeed with all its flaws...

unfortunately we are in the generation of abhi now. they just passed a season and already been written off for not creating youth academies while seeing the state of football crumble for 8 years since the start of i-league.

    oh the irony of it.
