@Deb_Ban Tutu Bose has been negotiating with the CESC (Goenkas) for while now. Surprised that MB fans in IFN didn't know!

Probably. But I think that story was a figment of imagination of Ei Samay reporter, or wistful thinking at best. Ground reality is not this simple.

Is that just grapevine or already under works? (The Merger between ISL & I-league) I truly believe ISL would not agree to a rule of 3+1. On the contrary would like to retain the current Combination maybe one Asian quota.

I understand that the 3+1 is self imposed by AIFF and not a directive from AFC to maintain unless somebody can correct me.

    1) All these new wannabies like Lonestar, Fateh, Minerva must be knowing about future merger. How will they fit in the new league structure? These Franchise based leagues are not based on any Relegation or Promotion system. it is all about Business, Money and links. What is the future of 2nd Division?

    2) What will happen to Corporate entries like BFC, DSK in the new league?

    3) How will Fake owners (but actually owned by one owner only) clubs exist side by side with I-League clubs like Mohun bagan, East Bengal? Will fake owners continue acting as owners in new league also?

    4) There are other stakeholders also. Dempo SC owner or son-in-law of PP  - Parekh in ATK.. what will be their future?

Honestly I feel you are just against franchise leagues overall... as is the rest of the forum.

Even if the league was 6-8 months long people would complain just because it is franchised.

  • A person with a basic business sense would say IMG-R will not agree for merger and they would like to have a smaller duration league, till FIFA or AFC steps in and bans AIFF. Their business plan always have to been increase the valuation of the franchises and sell them off for a profit. Once all the franchises are sold, IMG wont give a fuck about the merger, the rules or the quality or the duration. It will the headache of the new owners. This selling off will take atleast couple of years from now. So wait for two years for merger. One more thing, within few more months we will see some franchises being sold off or change ownership. Its a profit for IMGR. Long run league and large expenditure was never IMG-Rs plan.

If you see IMG-R agreement with AIFF was to start a new IPL like league. They never mentioned about the duration.

@ArsenalFan700 ; Its not like that. Franchise based leagues are in Cricket IPL and Hockey also. The problem is that in Indian Football, everything is demolished or sidelined for ISL. Cricket or Hockey are not doing that. they still have Ranji Trophy, Irani trophy and all the Domestic Calendar in full force.
"My Way or Highway" syndrome will always be opposed especially when it is not even recognised by FIFA / AFC as a League. get it recognised first and then maybe people will stop talking about it.
