IF I was at Das/PP's place , I would have make multiple groups like administrative people, Football players & coaches, sports journalists, fans (both Old ones following since 90's and new ones who started following from 2014 onwards)
then would take opinion cum draft from each of these groups on merger i.e. how exactly merger should be , how many teams, schedule, player selections, integrating all teams under AFC norms etc etc
later would shortlist 5 of them i.e.1 from each group and then finalize it ..
judging by AIFF's current operations they are not finalizing this due to their shitty politics
we may have to wait till june to know whether isl i-league will be merged. nita reportedly has advised to take East Bengal & mohun bagan on board beacuse without their emotion isl won't sustain. To make isl number one league the blueprint is ready. all afc criteria will be taken care of.
Basically this guy claims he is about to own an Indian Super League team from Gujarat. I don't think any of us have heard or talked about this so I emailed the writer to ask about this cause again, most rumors have revolved around Bengaluru FC, Mohun Bagan, and East Bengal.
This is the response I got back:
These are the responses from Mr Tripathi to my initiall interview regarding his ISL team. I have asked him to give me more details on when it will happen but I am yet to hear back,
The reason why you probably can't find anything because I don't think the expanded teams have been announced as yet. When I hear more from Mr Tripathi I will contact you again.
Mr Tripahi quotes:
The league will be expanding and I will be owning an expansion side in India from Gujarat which is the state that I come from. The A-League side and the ISL side will have an affiliation agreement as well.
Indian football has a history of producing gifted technical players what can you say about the current talent that is coming through?
There is an amazing young crop of talent coming through in India but they are raw talents. They need avenues outside the ISL to develop fully. This is where I believe that the Diya Hope Football academy I will be establishing in Gujarat comes into play. This is where linking the Gujarat ISL side to a network of sides around the world will also come in to not only help the development of Indian football but football in Australia and around the developing football world.
