Why not TB (Tutu Bose) Mohun Bagan? He literally runs the club and MB fans have repeatedly said that they don't care for any sponsor as long as he is there at the club.
This gentleman is exclusively funding the club for the 3rd.consecutive year..we respect & appreciate that. Yes....so long Tutu babu is there.....sponsorship is not an issue.
Some gentleman 'financing' and pulling out of debts a century-old community based hugely popular club time and again is not a good advertisement of the club itself. It so clearly indicates that something is very, very wrong in the running of the club, which is attibuted to the very 'gentleman' himself.
Why MB was drafted into an union with UB which the club wanted to break free so desparately for last few years? Why the deal was, and still is under wraps? Why such a popular club cannot manage another sponsor for the second or third year running? Why there are no co-sponsors? Why there are no professional management in the club? And who is running the club all these years that they could not take actions on these?
The answer is simple: the 'gentleman' is an usurper. He has taken over an institition so revered by a section of Bengali psyche only to be run as his own fiefdom. He doesn't care it to be in its own glory. The megalomaniac wants to play savior every season.
