My issue is that eventually we will need some clarity on the sponsorships and TV revenue... is there revenue or not? Does STAR Sports give anything? You don't want to just expand teams just randomly, especially if when it comes to sponsorship it is all given out equally or based on where you finish, then there is less money to go around and with many teams in big debt that could be a problem.
It is cool to have more teams, more markets etc but they shouldn't rush it and I that is where I don't trust the AIFF honestly.
True , TV money is the most important source of income for most of the clubs in the world Tht's one thing we need to sort out before the leagues are merged
The hell is wrong with them!!.. on top of kids running around this forum (thanks for the admin to maintain forum order by banning them) Abusive, unsporting leading all the way from a frikkin kitman to the owner leading a false charge.
still shocked at an owner having decades of footballing exp to behave like this. I hope not only ISL but AIFF takes a strong view and set an example on this esp when we are talking about merging leagues by 2017.
Which all brings to question as to what Goa learnt all these years by being a leading state in promoting football.
Clearly there seems to be a transition of power away from Goa and things like these do much more damage than help thier cause.
Other teams will now be extra cautious when engaging FC Goa unfortunately for all non footballing reasons.
In there defense, this Salgaocar can be called a novice when it comes to football ownership. He does not own Salgaocar FC, he is basically new to this game. The one with footballing experience in the ownership group, Dempo, has not had a bad word said about him. In fact, he was a victim when he was not allowed into the stadium for the match at first.
As for Goa as a footballing state, they are ahead by a long way.
