Colonel Gautam Kar is Retired Army Officer who joined AIFF. His experience must be in Subroto Cup, Durand Cup. This is the news when he was appointed at AIFF.
Funny thing is that the article says Age Limit for the position is between 40 to 50 years. Now Colonel Gautam Kar after Retirement from Army and that too from post of Colonel should be 53 or 54 years old. I guess Ex-Serviceman get Age Relaxation in Recruitment.
@sam ; In that case, I am surprised that he reached the post of Colonel and then took VRS. I can understand that if it was Lt. Colonel but for Colonel Post!!!!!!
26 years of Comissioned Service gets you to Colonel Post. Lets assume that he was an exceptional officer who got several out-of-turn promotions and then he retired early with VRS before 50 and joined AIFF.
I just said the thing about general cases, not specific to any rank. I have seen many such cases. though you are correct, VRS happens very rarely for Colonels and beyond !!
I will tell you what, If referring standard (as they were the first season) has remarkably improved thats another feather in the ISL cap over i-league for sure.
