Will a Kolkatan support a Birla Rabindranath Tagore FC or anything with a name Kolkata? Obviously the latter...Shivajians is not a fan based club, the best way to get fans is getting the name of the city in the club name.

Shivajians is fine, not necessarily every club will have to have a city name, what is funny is the prefix 'DSK'. With that prefix on, they are a company club, so difficult to have popular support. Shivajian points to army (or supporters) of Shivaji, so, great in my opinion and a shift from typical city FCs. And they potentially have the whole of Maharashtra as their fan base.

Some people think big. Hindustan FC of Delhi !!!! DSK have to promote their company so DSK Shivajians is the best name possible I guess in the city like Pune. Kalyani Bharat made an attempt earlier with Bharat name. Pune FC was not popular either. Also many times, good names are already taken over by small or defunct clubs.
