segunda B won't pay as much as top I-league foreigners like Johnson , or the Kolkata giants players'
Tony Doblas as a GK won't get an Asian club Josu played I'm US 3rd tier last time, so this is a step up , no I-league club will sign a foreign make shift left back who is a wannabe AM
if Hume accepts a lower wage abroad it doesn't affect his ISL pay packet, whereas his demands for I-League were ridiculous
If you play in the ileague and don't perform, your ISL wages will go down like anything. It's best to just mint ISL for them, can risk it with I league.
There is financial turmoil at FC Goa. Sources have confirmed that there is a huge backlog of unpaid bills at the Jaydev Mody owned franchise.
According to reliable sources, trouble started once Narendra Modi announced the demonitisation of 1000 and 500 rupee notes. Jaydev Mody who owns two casinos in Goa allegedly thrives off the black money earned through casinos. In fact it is an open secret that casinos are havens for money laundering and almost 90% of transactions are in cash. So news is that the casino business has completely dried up and the majority stakeholder is struggling to raise funds to clear off all his debts. For starts, the players received the final installment of their salaries just a few days back (it was due on 10th of January), that too after they threatened to lodge a complaint with FIFA. In fact, some of the players and support staff of last year haven't been paid their bonus yet for reaching the finals against Chennaiyin. (the old owners laid down a commitment that this would be paid when they exited. The new owners paid this promised sum to the players who played for them again in ISL-3 but havent paid the players or officials who were not a part of FC Goa this year). It is believed that there are crores of bills to be settled ranging from hotel payments and flight tickets which was used during the ISL season to stadium rent, hired cars and other miscellaneous expenses. Surprisingly, none of the players whom the club owes money to have approached the AIFF or FIFA, which could avoid an international embarrassment for India.
Is this the end of Jaydev Mody's association with FC Goa? Especially since after demonetization there has been a huge drop in revenue at Delta Corp. What is interesting to note that there is a simmering discontentment brewing amongst Goans against casinos in the state. What has added to FC Goa's financial woes is that their other major investor, Rakesh Jhunjhunwala too must have lost huge sums of money after stock markets crashed due to Demonetization. These look like troubled times for Goan football. Will Jaydev Mody pull the plug and exit FC Goa?
Also, to add new support staff may be hired after Zico's exit. Talks are being held with a prominent coach in Indian football. Also lthere are strong rumours that an ex support staff who was sacked last year for allegedly misbehaving with a female staff of the hotel during the pre-season in Brazil might be hired back
Good signing for Sudeva. Unfortunate end to his career in MLS and he hasn't played here in four years (since 2013) but he should still be good enough for the I-League 2nd Division.
