Kolkata clubs won't back anything which has Mr.Dempo in it. They have seen his game way too many times. Unless ScG and Salgaocar dump the AIFF VP who is a Astin ka Saap, no point standing up with them. Also, the clubs in itself are very different. ScG and Salgaocar are family run clubs with zilch support base, a very different scenario from being East Bengal and Mohun Bagan. Trust me that PIL which is getting filed in Calcutta High Court is going to haunt AIFF current management. Mrs. Ambanis palti could be a step to stop that and she could conveniently double back when the danger is gone.
There is nothing to achieve for the Kolkata clubs by uniting with SCG and Salgaocar.. By playing in ISL both MB & EB can have a change in fortunes in terms of sponsorship and professionalism.. Both the goan clubs will stay as they are even if they were allowed in ISL.. They had an opportunity to build a club all these years which they failed to do. And dont blame the AIFF always. BFC played in the same league and from a place like Bengaluru which certainly doesn't have as much heritage as Goa. Yet they built such a strong brand that you have to take them in. And with a delightful name like Sporting Clube de Goa , they were an utter failure. Not a proper website, no fan connect, no good social media interaction. Nothing. And remember these are very important part of modern football
I didn't, he only has 287 matches in the FL. Wanted to say 300, not 200.
Personally I think it is Michael Collins, the former Bengaluru FC midfielder. Similar positions and Collins has over 300 games in the Football League and it would make sense considering he is a free agent and has played a lot in League Two.
