Any High School Inter class Athletics Annual meet in Jamaica will be better then National Championship of most countries as far as 100m is concerned !!!!
So, this proves that dreams always don't get converted to realities.
Pooja was outclassed against the much fancied opponent. No shame though.
However, the away Amit Panghal boxed today was astonishing. The way he was running for his life was bewildering to say the least. Moreover, he won the first round comfortably. After, winning the first round, his capitulation is beyond belief.
Really disappointed with two boxer's (Amit and Vikas) , especially Amit(I was a huge admirer of him but never will be anymore).
Another thigh regarding Medal Tally is that already we are already at par with Rio(silver for Mirabai and At least bronze for Lovlina, worst case scenario).
One thing I have learnt is that nobody knows what is going to happen. Anyone can win and anybody can lose. I feel that it is written in your destiny,if you will win a medal or not.for example, Djokovic(one the most mentally tough athlete will return without a medal from Singles event despite Federer and Rafa not being there). There are many examples(our's and others as well).
If it's your day, then it's your day. Nobody can stop you. So, what I am saying is that there is still one week left, we should hold on to our horses because anything can happen anytime in sport.eg) injury forced Vinesh out during a match at Rio.Same can happen with other Athletes as well.Your personal best performance during the competition,Other's panicking and many more things. How are you feeling on a particular day as well.
"No one knows what will happen. No one expected Abhinav Bindra to win a Gold at 2008 Olympics". No one expected Sindhu to win silver at 2016 and no one expected Sakshi to win Bronze(even Sakshi didn't expect). So the bottom line is" anything can happen, hold your ground, stay firm and give your best shot leave the rest to your destiny". Miracles or unexpected results can definitely come in our favour as well.
Only we still believe in miracles to happen, while USA, China, S Korea, Jamaica, make miracles happen...To summarise, We are not cut out for high pressure Olympics... Problem is people pursue Sports only to take up Govt jobs...Once there, then it's more about managing both...Medal mil gaya toh promotion, else at least we have a permanent job...
India have only one shooting event left to bring some cheer to an otherwise battered shooting contingent. Sanjeev Rajput and Aishwary Pratap Tomar will be in action in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Men's event on August 2.
This is how miracles happen in Olympics... Children taking up Sports at a very young age and then entire Society supports them Parents, School, Government to create a winning culture...it cannot be parents alone
