The umpring in the match was so much biased against us. Do we not have any clout in hockey?

Finally some relief with the QF win against GBR. Till that last goal we were playing dangerously . Allowing them to control the game and easily allowing opponents to penetrate to our D . Unnecessarily bringing the pressure and that final goal was totally a relief and a ticket to SF after ages. Now Belgium test awaits us  in the SF and they were the biggest threat  for us recently and we have to go with all guns blazing for the final kill.

    Hockey Men's SF confirmed:
    India vs Belgium
    Australia vs Germany

I already mentioned earlier, we are favorites against G.B in Q.F and won it.  Even Belgium passed thru Q.F stage easily. As I expected, Australia struggled against Netherlands and won in Penalty shoot-out.

One of our buddy said that Germany is weaker team in Group B and yet they won comfortably against Argentina.
Germany is a good team.  Just that few of their top players are retired and they are in transition. After this Olympics, few more German players will retire. But that will not make them weak as they already started molding younger players.

It is a treat to watch Hardik Singh goal. Excellent determination from him.  Last few minutes, even with 10 players, we played with lot of determination. This is what we need against Belgium in S.F. But first thing, we have to improve defense. Most of the opponent attacks are from our right side. Not sure why coach is still not able to fix it.

Since 1980 Olympics we never reached Medal stage in Hockey.
When we were under tremendous pressure at end of Q3 and start of Q4, Manpreet Singh got Yellow card
I saw Sreejesh (who played valiantly today) gasping for breath and drinking water - i realised that the familiar story has started. All of us were looking for some moment and Hardik singh goal provided that !!!  like 40 years of disgrace and frustration was removed.

    Badminton:
    Women's Singles:
Prior to Olympics, P.V.Sindhu mentioned she wants to change the color of the medal and she done it :)
Jokes apart, if she continues similar form till next Olympics, she will be one of the favorite to win Gold in Paris Olympics. Among the top players, An Se young (Q.F) will be the youngest in next Olympics, followed by Chen Yufei (Gold medalist), He Bingjiao (S.F), Yamaguchi (Q.F) , Sindhu (Bronze) , Okuhara (Q.F), Intanon(Q.F) & Tai Tzu ying(Silver)

    Men's Doubles:
    Satwik & Chirag
will come back stronger in next Olympics. They will gain enough experience & they are still younger.
It is very unfortunate they are in tough group. Those Chinese Taipei pair who lost against Satwik & Chirag in Group stage won Gold Medal. Only Satwik & Chirag won against them and other pair won at-least 1 set against them in Top seed from Indonesia. Taipei pair are very dominant in Q.F , S.F & Final . Loss against Indian pair have pumped them up.
