Agreed. Many lower rows of seats were empty. It should have been around 17000 people. They should start showing Revenue from Tickets. They should show the figures that how much money they got from selling of how many tickets? Then one can get the idea of real fans and manipulated figures.
I feel it is more to do with scheduling than quality of play. People mostly prefer to go to stadiums maybe once or twice a month. ISL schedule is such that there are matches almost alternate days. Also as fatigue is a big issue due to the cramped schedule, the quality of the play also goes down. These negative factors will cause a dip in attendances.
With matches everyday, there is no anticipation, no detailed discussions, no analysis and no buildup. Match Buildup and marketing will increase attendances. These factors connect the proper football fans.
High intensity football matches should be held once a week (ISL/I-League). Allow players to recuperate, let them have proper training sessions, work on tactics, combinations etc. The earlier IMG realize that this is not IPL cricket, the better.

Nice points....
Agree that few seats are empty in the stadium..Mostly front 2-3 rows are empty.. Even in highlights, we are able to see that...
But what are you trying to prove.... 19003 or 18500 is fine... At-least appreciate we are getting fans for ISL matches...
Not all seats are sold to fans... Few blocks will be allotted to sponsors or corporate's...
And not all leagues count the attendance based on bar code scanners....
This year obviously attendance will be dropped tremendously..
It may further go down once the season is extended...

2 teams are playing in smaller stadiums.... By considering stadium capacity, obviously the average attendance will be dropped this season...
