The point is that why are they giving us false figures of Stadium Attendance? If 17000 attend, why not give actual attendance instead of jacking it up which is very obvious? How many tickets are actually sold? Barcode scanner is used even for VIP and sponsor seats? Just because the online quota is exhausted, it does not mean that entire capacity of stadium is filled.
http://www.latimes.com/la-sp-attendance-082305-story.html Nice article but it explains the practice nowadays abroad that Stadium Attendance is decided over tickets sold instead of actual turnstile count. In the case of ISL, only a portion of stadium capacity is sold online from bookmyshow. Thats why lot of tickets are given as freebies to sponsors, NGO / Schools, Reliance Employees and it is all counted in the attendance. Genuine fans who purchase tickets will be there from the start of the match. Freebies come late or do not come at all yet they are counted in the attendance. It helps in the accounting or marketing purposes. Legally there is nothing wrong as IMG has seen this practice in USA. In India it looks like a gimmick as ticket purchasing fraction of spectators is less as compared to other countries.
In a new trend, it is observed that clubs are using their grassroots coaches as technical staff for the main team. Shakti Chauhan in DD, Sabir Pasha in Chennai, Gavin in Goa and also ATK. Incidently Kerala Blasters Terry Phealan was the head coach of the team last year is their grassroots head. ... I wonder how the grassroots in each of these teams doing, given the load they have to carry with the first team...
It is common in many leagues that are not the top leagues in the world to have assistant coaches and other first-team staff also involved in grassroots and youth development. Sorry the ISL does not have Premier League money.
Blame and accuse the ISL for a lot but this is not one of them.

The Sydney Derby in Australia announced over 61,000 fans to that match this weekend yet I saw so many empty seats
We need to ask the same in ISL website.... How are they actually announcing the attendance...
