So Goa play Chennaiyin tomorrow. Both teams have nothing to play for here. Hoping to see some youngsters play. Maybe give Anirudh Thapa his debut, get Dhanpal Ganesh out there for the first time, start Jayesh Rane, Daniel Lalhimpuia, or Uttam Rai etc while Goa can maybe go for an mainly Indian line-up again and see how that goes.

Doubt we will see it but wouldn't mind.

  • Jayesh Rane wearing Nos.10, sums up Chennaiyin's performance this year!

Marcelino is so good to watch! Him ,malouda and gadze make for great viewing with their linkups and teibar rolling the ball for them. Been a treat watching DD this season!

I honestly think Marcelinho has more to him than Steven Mendoza

Ooh...tough call that. Both are pacy, good dribblers, but marcelinho's physicality might give him an edge over Mendoza. Also Mendoza is 'give the ball and let him run' type of player while marcelinho on the other hand can run as well as play the holding job as well to lay the ball for someone else's run. That's where gadze has flourished imo. So yeah ,maybe marcelinho is better.

  • Agree. And one needs to mention about Malouda. Having played for top clubs and then playing in India for the last 2 years is itself seen as downmarket. But this guy is even better than what he was last year probably. Most importantly what is amazing is how does he keep himself motivated playing ISL coming from Chelsea! People might say money, but I dont think its true for him completely - its a reflection of his professional ethics.

We have seen what Del Piero, Luis Garcia,Ljungberg, Pires did in the last two years....

Right! He has been a great leader. Regularly talking to the younger guys , cheering them . Also, he feels great at Delhi and obviously the fact that he isn't English helps :D

Mendoza was 22-23 when he played in ISL it was his 1st stint abroad and was just the start of his career

Marcelinho is 29 at the prime of his career and has good experience of playing in Asia

    Must not compare them
