Decided to start this thread since we are now slowly getting news about the tournament next year and its qualifiers.

Looks like Himachal Pradesh will host the North Zone Qualifiers from 27 December to 2 January. Did not know we even had a venue in that state but looks like we do. Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Chandigarh, and HP will participate in the qualifiers.

Mridul Banerjee, who coached Mohammedan Sporting in the recently concluded CFL and guided his team to the runners-up position this season, has been selected as the coach of the Bengal Santosh Trophy team. The Bengal Santosh Trophy team will play their first game at Bokaro in Jharkhand against Chattisgarh on 29 December while the next match will be against Orissa on 1st January 2017

Jiten Murmu and Prolad Roy? So East Bengal are not using them in the I-League?

That's a pertinent question...I was also thinking about that...maybe East Bengal think that are so flush with talented players that do not need to use them in the I-League, at least when the Santosh Trophy takes place
