a Filipino-British footballer started his career after he signed up for Chelsea Academy at the age of 10 in 1996, together with brother Phil, made a number of appearances for the Chelsea F.C. Youth Team and reserve team

India is gonna need luck on our side to qualify for Asia cup again.. AIFF should keep their promise of arranging friendlies with good competition soon

With the influx of foreign based players Phillipines has suddenly become a very strong squad..in the AFF cup they easily beat vietnam in vietnam 2-0..plus they have a lot more players waiting to try out for the team..even Palestine are no less..they dont have naturalized players but their own players are playing for some big clubs outside palestine and so far palestine has qualified for AFC cc without them..The next AFC challenge cup might prove to be the most difficult one so far..thats why it wud be better if we have either of maldives, nepal in our group

i watched some of the AFF suzuki cup game with Phillipines playing and they played fast, organized.. they players seemed to know what they were doing with confidence. i didn't expect this from them so i did some background check and found out about some of their players.. compare this to Indian NT performance against yemen, etc where the team couldn't put 2-3 passes together at around the same time the AFF cup was taking place..

There are so many good players in I-League just select the best lot and give them proper exposure, then you don't have to fear any "istans" or communists. <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->

Yes Philippines playing really good cause they have Europeans who have trained in strong Youth setups. Also their Government is very encouraging as they are building 2 world class Football Stadiums.

Phillipines have quite a few europeans who are really strong
  • Well I really dont understand one thing..why doesnt AIFF allow Indian Origin Player to play for our country just like other Asian or European countries? Few players have showed interest like Michael Chopra, Izumi Arata but still we are not allowing them to play. I know they may not that great but still where's the harm in trying it may succeed.
    Hope some senses prevail!!

Because the indian constitution doesnot allow dual citizenship. For Chopra to play for India he needs to give up his English passport and thereby also his chance to play in npower championship because he shall not be granted a work permit due to india's low fifa rankings
