They used to, but not for this year's I-League. Apparently they have hired the ground from ATK, and they have to pay ATK for the lights(hiring charges) and also have to have GenSet/maintenance etc (which also costs significant amount), which Bagan thought if they increase the price of the tkts., they can pay for all of those!
Kolkata crowd is yet to be mentally prepared to pay RS 100/200 for watching football matches - they still have that "maidan" mindset of watching football matches at a dirt cheap rate.
Rs. 100 & Rs.200 should be reasonable for people living in a metro city like Kolkata. Matches in Barasaat Stadium used to have full occupancy. RS in right in the city and not far from the club tent. MB should easily be able to fill the stadium.
U have to understand that these 5k-6K people who are flocking the stadium are common in both ISL and I-League; ISL tickets were Rs400(minimum); but the balance probably genuinely are still not prepared to cough up Rs200 - either they have genuine problem or may be the mindset.
